1. Never Drive A Car That Is Pulling To One Side
One of the first signs you should look for is if the car is pulling far to one side or the other. There are many reasons a car can pull. The first is that the alignment is off. Although this isn't an immediate danger to the people in the car, it can damage the car and the tires if you drive it without getting the alignment fixed. A more worrisome problem could be with the tires. If one tire is starting to deflate it will make the car pull to one side. It is only a matter of time before that tire blows. You can fix this by inflating the tire, or you might have a leak and need to actually get a new tire.
Lastly, if the car is pulling while you brake, this could mean that you have a serious problem with the brakes. One side of the brakes could be giving out and so you are only working with one good brake. This is a problem that you cannot ignore and you need to get it to a mechanic right away.
2. Don't Drive A Car That Makes Grinding Noises
Cars aren't necessarily silent when you drive them, but they shouldn't be making any loud noises either. One of the most worrisome noises is grinding. If the car is grinding when you brake, it could mean that the brakes aren't healthy. If the car is grinding when you shift gears, it could mean the transmission is on it's last leg.
